Fred's 80-mph winds prompt hurricane warning in Cape Verde Islands

Hurricane Fred is on the west coast of Africa. This is causing rain and high winds near Cape Verde. They say that it is rare for a hurricane to form near the African coast this close. The most recent updates say that Hurricane Fred had winds over 80 mph. They expect it to pass over the northwestern portion of the island chain. Researchers are not sure if Hurricane Fred will reach the Caribbean or the Untied States. It is supposed to weaken soon.

Why should the world care?
Because this is not only going on in Africa, but the rest of the world too. There are tropical storms happening all over. I think it is important to know when there are hurricanes going on and also to be taught about them. Some people may never have to worry about them, but they are still natural disasters. I think that understanding how they work and where they usually happen, will help up be more prepared if we ever have to deal with one.

What impact do rising ocean levels have on the world?

What impact do rising ocean levels have on the world?
Rising ocean levels could quite possibly cause a costal flood across the world. If the earth is warming, it can cause thermal expansion which makes the water expand. Also with the earth warming, it can cause land based ice to melt. This can cause the world to flood.

Is too much water or not enough water better?
I believe that neither would be good. If there is flooding, houses and factories along the coast line could be ruined. Also, if the factories are harmed, it could essentially ruin the economy which is not good for the world. If there isn't enough water, it causes a drought which, with heat added, can cause forest fires along the coast as well. This isn't good because it can damage homes, factories, businesses, and can even take lives. I think that right now we have the perfect amount of sea levels right now, there is not too much or too little water.
