Is it okay for the military to use animals in combat?

I didn't know that the military trains these kind of animals to help in the military. I think that it is a good idea, because it does help the military win the wars. I think that it is actually a clever idea. I especially like how they trained the bees to search for bombs and bomb areas. I understand why some people would find it wrong, because the animals have no choice but to do what they're trained to do. 

Sage Grouse or 5.6 Billion dollars?

I think that they should be put onto the endangered species list, so nobody can take away their home or kill them. This way, people will help keep them become less extinct. They are recreating the habitat for the Sage Grouse. They need food and water to survive, so the people are putting that together for them. The climate is hurting their habitat and the birds, themselves. I think we should care about the lives of animals and other creatures, other than worrying about money. 

Do you agree with removing elephants from Ringling Brothers circus?

I agree with removing them from the circus, because like the guy said, it's no way for an elephant to live. I think that the elephants deserve to be out in the open and be with their families. I think it is considered animal abuse. I don't think that they should be used for entertainment like this. The elephants are smart creatures that deserve more than just performing for people. 

Why does America have a higher percentage of obesity than the rest of the world? Any solutions?

I think it is because we have a lot of fast food chains in America. Fast food chains are based on population, and America has a big population. In other countries, there are less food chains. At those food chains, the food is more expensive as well. So people are less likely to buy food from a fast food restaurant. In America, we can get a double cheeseburger for a little over a dollar. 
Also, people are getting lazier. There are less things to do because of technology. People are spending more time with their technology rather than going outside or being active, even at school.

I think the solution is to get ride of fast food restaurants or at least increase the prices, because then we will be less likely to buy from the restaurants. Also we need to have more recesses at school, this way, we can be active and spend more time outside and off of the computers.

U.S. officials say that there is an increase in the number of minors and families crossing the border from Mexico into the United States. In 2014, the United States faced a crisis when over 10,000 children a month, and another 16,000 adults with children, began to arrive at the border. This has prompted the White House and Homeland Security officials to scramble to prepare for a new influx of immigrants. Some of the U.S. officials believe that this is because the immigrants were influenced by the Syrian immigrants over in Europe. 

I think that this is important because all these people are coming into the United States and soon, there will be no jobs or homes for the people. I think that we need to keep them out as much as we can because they're going to ruin our economy and we will become overpopulated. I understand that it might be bad where they came from, but that isn't really our problem. I think that helping them will ruin the United States. 

Is it okay to hunt whales?

I think that it is okay because it's a part of their culture. In Japan, they see it as a cultural delicacy. In Australia, they might see it as bad, but they might have some sort of food that other people see as gross. I don't think they should judge a country based on what they eat. Yeah, the whales are going by fast, and they could soon be extinct, but as long as they keep a population control on it, it's okay. It's kind of like when Americans hunt deer. Some people see it as bad, other people see it as good. I think that it is okay, because it's a food source. 

Do these drivers deserve diplomatic immunity?

I think they deserve to get in trouble because they are risking the lives of innocent people as well as their own lives.  They need to learn to be careful. They are being reckless and dangerous. I think that this is wrong. Just because they are important people, doesn’t mean that they can do what ever they want. I think that the police should do something about it. I think that the men should be arrested and have a suspension on their license or something, before it goes too far and someone gets hurt.

I believe that we should increase the hunting season, because there are too many deer running around. I think that it would help decrease the percentage of accidents in Iowa. It is really dangerous, especially in mating season, because the baby deer are also running around. I can see the opposing side as well, because some people think that it is wrong to kill innocent animals. Coming from a hunting family, I think that it’s okay.

Should the world take Iran's hope about Israel seriously?

I believe that the world should take Iran seriously, because this is another country we're talking about. Israel is a part of the world, people live there. Iran is supporting the ISIS group that has been attacking and taking over the homes of many groups of people. The Iranian leader hopes for the end of Israel. I think that we should do what we can to keep them at peace and to not go into war. If they do go into war, I think we should help Israel because we have been helping them for many years. I don't think it's right for a country to threaten another country because they don't get along. It's wrong. 

New Zealand Bans Young Adult Novel

This is the first time New Zealand has banned a book in the last 22 years. The book is called "Into the River," by Ted Dawe. The family advocacy group, Family First, had a few complaints about the book. They stated that the book had graphic language and themes that are inappropriate for teens. The ban has prompted a debate about the nature of free speech and taking steps on protecting certain groups from unsuitable content that can be seen in books.

I think that this is important, because books are a part of our everyday culture. We read books in school, at work, for fun. There are books everywhere in the world, and a lot of them are banned. I think that we should stop banning books because it's harder to learn more if the books are banned. We wouldn't be able to find the books when they're not on display.

I think that they should open their borders to migrants. Because if they stay where they are, they can get hurt, killed, or forced to do things that they don't agree with. Germany won't let them stay there, so they have no where to go. They can't go back to where they were because their lives are in jeopardy. 

I think that Germany should set up a place for them to go. Kind of like back when the United States was in the cold war, we put the Asian-Americans in camps where they could live their lives and go to work. I think that Germany should do something like that for the people. 

I don't agree with what Germany is doing to these poor helpless people. I was raised to believe that if someone needs help, you give them all you can.

I think that real showers should not be put in Auschwitz, knowing about the history. It seems kind of morbid. The people who were there 70 years ago, were told to take a shower, but ended up getting gassed and killed. I think that people would feel wrong about it if they were to take a shower at a place where people died. Auschwitz is a memorial for those who died.
