Is one solution to global warming eating more bugs?
I think that it would be a good idea, because it could cause less pollution. I especially like the idea that they created a cricket flour that you could use in almost everything. I think that I would try it, as long as I can't taste the difference. I don't think that you would taste the difference though because adding a bunch of different ingredients would make the taste go away. I think that it would be a great idea.

Should the United States stop selling Fugu?
I think that it should not be allowed to be sold inside of the United States because it is dangerous. If they aren't prepared correctly, they could be life threatening. The people in Japan who prepare Fugu, are required to take lessons for about two years. If you even get some of the secretion on the knife and it gets on the meat, it can still kill you. About 60% of people who eat it, die. I don't think that something that is this unsafe should be sold anywhere.

World's 2nd Largest Diamond Found
Biggest Diamond in 100 Years Adds $150 Million to Miner
This is important because it means that there are a lot more precious stones out there that can be found. Especially large stones. Using the technology that we have now, will help us find more stones. Finding stones like this can help bring up the economy. I think that we should have more miners in America, because our stock market is low. Finding gems like this, will help our country get out of debt.

Should school children be forced to clean their plates?
I don't think that children should be forced to clean their plates. Everyone has their preferences, even children. If they don't like a food, they won't eat it. Sometimes schools serve food that people don't like. That's okay. As long as they eat the rest of the food that they do like, it should be fine. It's their choice.

Should Iowa take in Syrian refugees?
I don't think that Iowa should take in Syrian refugees because it wouldn't be safe. First off, terrorists could pretend to be refugees so they can get into other places. I think that it would be somewhat okay if we let them into the United States, but we should keep them away from our food sources. If Iowa loses it's crops, animals would starve, people would starve, and the economy would go up. We can't risk it.

Pyramids of Giza: What do 'thermal anomalies' reveal?
http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/10/africa/egypt-giza-pyramids-thermal-anomalies/?iid=ob_homepage_deskrecommended_pool&iref=obinsite
Scans were made on the pyramids of Giza and they have found several thermal anomalies, which may be explained by voids behind the surface, according to Egypt's Ministry of Antiquities. The scientific mission is using noninvasive visualization techniques, including 3-D scans with lasers and drones to see inside the pyramids. The infrared team detected a huge anomaly on the eastern side of the Khufu pyramid, which is over 4,500 years old.
I think that this is important because it could reveal the secrets of the pyramids. For thousands of years these pyramids have been here, and now we are just discovering that there is something a little different about them, I think that this is very important. We are using different types of technology to find out these secrets as well. I think that this will help us figure out what the pyramids are hiding.

Who are veterans? Why should we be thankful for their service?
-Grandpa Floyd Fitchett Jr. - WWII Soldier
-Grandpa Kent Bodholdt - Vietnam Soldier
Veterans are the service men and women who have fought in US wars through out history. I think that we should be thankful for them because they are the one who have fought for our country, our rights, and our freedom. Without them, we wouldn't even be Americans.

Are restaurants a big reason to have you move to a larger city?
I don't think so because I don't eat at restaurants a lot. People think that fast food is becoming the national food, but there are still a lot of people who like to eat at home with their families. I would rather have a home cooked meal, where I know it's good, than go out to a random place and hope that the food tastes good. This doesn't mean that I don't enjoy going out to eat sometimes, but I wouldn't base my living situation off of what I want to eat. Now, if you ask me, can we please have a McDonalds around here? I could use a big mac.

Should rural Iowa ban Polk County in response for legal case?
The Raccoon River is getting polluted, and Polk county has to build a new water treatment facility. They want to sue some smaller counties because they believe that we're the reason why it's polluted. This way they can pay for the new water treatment facility. The counties that they are blaming are Buena Vista County, Sac County, and Calhoun County. I don't think that this is fair, because it's not just those three counties doing this. It's caused by a lot of counties. I think that we need to stand up for ourselves so the bigger counties don't pick on us.

More than a decade later, missing Alabama boy found in Ohio
There was a child who was reported missing in Alabama 13 years ago. He has been found safe and unharmed in Ohio. The child, Julian Hernandez, was in custody of his mother when he disappeared. They suspected the boys father took him as part of a noncustodial parental abduction. A lead in the case came Sunday, when the police contacted the FBI in Cleveland about a missing child. Julian was trying to apply for college and ran into troubles when his Social Security number didn't match his name. That was when the found out that he was on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children database. The boys father was arrested on Monday for abduction.
I think that this is important because it happens all over. Parents or even strangers take their children away from home and hid them. They change their name or their information, and they change their life. Sometimes it could be for the better, but usually it isn't. The little boy in this case was already 18, so he didn't have to go back to living with his mother, whom he didn't know. He could stay where he was, or go home to his mom.

Pocahontas County is #1. Is this a problem we can't fix?
Out of the 99 counties in Iowa, Pocahontas has had a really big decrease in population. In 2010, our population was 7,310 people. We lost like 15.6% of our population in 10 years, I think that that's crazy. I think we should care because we live here, it's our home and someday it could be empty. I do not think that we can fix the problem because there isn't that many things we could do. To bring in more people, we need to have money. I don't think that it will work.
Should we make schools smaller instead of larger?
I think that it depends on the size of the town that the school is in. If it's a small town, it should be a small school. If it's a large town, it should be a larger school. I think that we should just make the schools to fit the town correctly. Plus, in larger towns, there are usually more than one school. In little towns, we don't need that because our population is small. I think the size of the school should depend on the population of the town.

Does PAC-LM or Waukee have a greater challenge?
I would rather have a school that doesn't have enough students than a school with too many students. It would be a lot harder to get to know the students one on one. I think that if the student has a better relationship with the teacher, they are going to do better in that class. It would be hard to keep up with all the students. They would have to keep adding on to the school for more classrooms and locker space. I would hate to be in a class with over 300 students. I wouldn't even know 25% of the people I'm going to be graduating with. I like going to a small school where I know everybody that I'm going to graduate with. I think it is a lot easier, especially in classes when we have to do group projects. All in all, I think that Waukee has a greater challenge.
